RESEARCH PROJECT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: BMusHons research essays for March 2027 graduation.
• Late submissions for BMusHons research essays are subject to motivation to the PPC
and not accepted after 19 January 2027. A maximum mark of 50% is loaded for late
submissions with only a pass or fail examination outcome possible.
EXAMINATION CRITERIA :
Honours research assignments are examined by one internal examiner. It is the
responsibility of the supervisor to appoint the internal examiner. Examiners are required to
submit a short report to the programme leader, taking into account the general criteria set
out below. Honours Research Assignments should be assessed in terms of the following
general criteria:
-Adequate delimitation and conceptualisation of the topic;
-Adequate understanding and application of relevant research method[s];
-Adequate engagement with the relevant literature;
-Clear and systematic presentation of the material and logical exposition of the
argument[s];
-Proper documentation and support of the results of the research;
-Acceptable linguistic and stylistic presentation;
-Acceptable ethical standards
